Meet 1 People – Our new favourite sustainable clothing brand out of Denmark. Created by power couple, Jonathan and Rea Tjoa Algreen, 1 People’s mission was to change the way business was done by making their business as sustainable as possible. They are incredibly focused on ensuring their materials are healthy for consumers and our planet, while making beautiful luxury pieces that are truly timeless.

Materials
1 People is very concentrated on using materials that not only look incredible but are also safe for the planet, their customers, and their workers. “We want to protect public health and, therefore, our products are safe to use, and we never compromise on this.” The brand never uses materials or products that are treated with “unsafe or unhealthy chemicals, hormone disrupting materials, toxins or heavy metals.” It is so refreshing to know that the clothing you are wearing has been created especially with your health in mind. 1 People is one of the most transparent brands out there. They are vocal about everything they do, and the brand provides a breakdown on all the materials they use, how they are sustainably dyed, and where they donate a share of their profits.

The brand donates 40% of their profits to an educational program, Business for Planet, which 1 People founded themselves. “We believe by educating the entrepreneurs of tomorrow we are creating a conscious way of doing business and in much larger scale than we do it alone. As we get into summer and are traveling (close to home), the brand new resortwear collection from 1 People, A Momentary Escape, has our new favourite essentials. “A Momentary Escape is the resort collection that offers sustainably luxurious, versatile, and timeless styles that transport you to vacation mode any time, any day. Wearing our contemporary resort wear allows for a significant discovery of unforgettable and indulging moments throughout your summer house getaway. Discover the looks that you can mix and match on your summer escape to the beachside, for the sake of a much-needed time away from the routines of daily life.”
Like the rest of their line, this mini collection is OEKO-TEX® certified and in collaboration with local and likeminded manufacturers. Instead of leather or animal products, they use VEGEA, which is a sustainable biomaterial used for 1 People’s accessories. “It is the innovative fabric made from 100% Organic Cotton which is coated with bio-compound from grape marc, composed of grape skins, stalks, and seeds discarded during wine production. The material is solvent-free and animal friendly.”
Another new collection from 1 People, is their Honest Eyewear range – finally ethical eyewear that is also beautiful! The conscious collection is handcrafted by artisans using upcycled rosewood from furniture makers waste.

The Florence Trousers in Sand are the kind of lightweight, loose trousers that billow from light sea breeze – perfect for cooler summer nights.
