Earth Day With Beauty Archive

“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people. ” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), an estimated 18 million acres (7.3 million hectares) of forest are lost each year. If the current rate of deforestation continues, it will take less than 100 years to destroy all the rainforests on the earth and up to 28,000 species are expected to become extinct by the next quarter of the century due to deforestation.

Reforestation is the natural or intentional restocking of existing forests and woodlands that have been depleted, usually through deforestation. Planting trees and improving global forestry is an important work and has the potential to restore land, benefit local communities and combat climate change. For a fact, poverty is linked to deforestation, and without taking into account and managing sectors as agriculture and forestry, it will be almost impossible to avoid the worst consequences of climate change.

Earth Day Network works with organizations all over the world that strengthen communities through tree planting. Using sapling and seed distribution, urban forestry, agroforestry, and tree care training, they have empowered rural and urban people alike to conserve, repair, and restore tree cover to their lands.

We have partnered with one of our organic beauty lines, The Beauty Archive, to help make a difference this year. This amazing brand has all natural lip tints and creams that are vegan and come in beautiful glass bottles.
