4 Steps For Natural Bridal Makeup
Whether you are planning your Autumn wedding or getting ready to be wed this Summer, we wanted to share our guide to natural bridal makeup, that is good for you and made in harmony with our planet. Here our Editor Taylor shares exactly why these organic makeup picks are perfect for natural, glowy looks.
1. Skin Prep
For me there is no amazing makeup without prepped and hydrated skin. Plus, on your wedding day, your skin deserves some serious love! Always spritz the skin before applying any serums or oils. The Rose Petal Toner from Shelby Naturals instantly calms redness and wakes up the skin. While skin is still damp, pop on Whimsy’s oil-based serum, which is formulated with 8 pure, cold-pressed oils that work in tandem with the skin to purify the pores while deeply hydrating the skin.
To seal in all that wonderful hydration, the Lift and Firm Moisturizer from Albiva, simply is the best. It is a gorgeous concentrated moisturizer that instantly plumps the skin as it is full of hydrating botanicals and peptides.
2. Complexion
If you are after natural and light coverage, look no further than Ilia’s Super Serum Skin Tint, which is mix of makeup and skincare – our favourite kind of makeup! It leaves the skin glowing and redness and minor imperfections blurred. If you want a bit more coverage, around the eyes and on any spots, use a bit of Kjaer Weis’s Cream Foundation. It is perfect for layering and instantly covers spots and dark circles.
To create that beautiful sun-kissed, blushing bride look, I love to use the Glow Duo from Kjaer Weis. This multi-use cream formula can be used as a blush, highlighter, or bronzer depending on your skin tone. The blush in this duo blends seamlessly into the skin, leaving the most beautiful color on the cheeks. I’m all about layering products to create the desired look, which is why I like to apply a dusting of the bronzer Bask under my cheek bones, and around my hairline. It also helps to set the cream products used before!
To powder a bit of t-zone shine, I love the Cloud Set Setting Powder from Kosas, which doesn’t take your glow away but simply softens the oil.
3. Brows & Eyes
For a natural look, I like to keep the eye look pretty simple. However, I think every bride’s eyes should be bright, with a little sparkle. The Cloud Nine Shadow instantly brightens the eyes and leaves a lovely pink hue. Charmed shadow adds a touch of the warmth to the crease, giving some wonderful dimension to the eyes. To enhance the lash-line, I love to use a brown eye pencil on the outer edge of my lashes to create a slight wing. Lastly, after curling the lashes, apply a few coats of Kjaer Weis’s lengthening mascara. Before I use any mascara, I always pat off any excess so that the lashes don’t get too wet.
For brows, look no further than the incredible Kosas brow duo. The brow pop pencil has a thin pencil in a variety of colors, so you can fill in only where you have any sparse sections. The airbrow gel instantly lifts and sets the brows, and even adds a touch of colour to give the brows a fuller appearance.
4. Lips
There are so many options for your wedding day lip. From red to pink to coral, the choice is yours. The natural organic lip colours not only have beautiful colour pay off, but will help to keep your lips moisturised.
