10 Sustainable Baby & Kids Clothing Lines
Protecting our youth is a huge part of the purpose of Rêve En Vert’s editorial platform, and looking to the future we think it’s more important than ever to make sure our new lives are being dressed in apparel that reflects the world we want them to grow up in. We also know the importance of organic materials and natural dyes goes further than just environmental impact – it’s good for skin and overall health to have clean clothing. Here are some of our favourite places to shop for eco-friendly baby clothing that are as ethical as they are adorable.
Summer and Storm
Summer and Storm is an optimistic and minimal, baby, kids and women’s brand founded in Australia in 2017. Focusing on natural and organic elevated essentials, which are ethically and sustainably sourced, the collections are produced within GOTS, WRAP and SEDEX certified environments. Creating desirable pieces to be enjoyed and passed down, whilst striving to produce clothing that have a minimal environmental and social impact.
Nature Baby
Nature Baby is a family business that works to create a world that nurtures you, your baby and nature. They began in 1998 as a quest for sustainable, natural and innovative products for their own family. Organic, natural and chemical-free. Clothing is made of organic cotton and merino, without the use of harmful chemicals, leaving nothing on your baby’s skin except pure goodness.
Kaba Baby
Childhood friends turned business partners Rewina and Tyobista co-founded Kaba Baby to promote Black and Brown excellence while creatively inspiring the next generation. Born in the land of origins east of the Nile and now based in Philadelphia, these two young Black women entrepreneurs work to create a children’s clothing line that highlights the stories and successes of those who paved the way. Their ethos is deep-rooted in sustainability, creating each piece with 100% organic cotton. They also use recyclable or reusable packaging across the brand.
New Kids in the House
New Kids in the House is a sustainable future kidswear label. They collect and process used fabrics to create new and timeless designed kids clothes. Their goal is to create sustainable kids fashion and make a statement against the fast fashion madness that surrounds us everyday. All of their products are made with love in their own small studio in Germany.
Illoura the Label
Illoura the Label is a baby and children’s wear label with the purpose of creating pieces to be cherished and loved for many children and generations to come, without costing our planet or the beautiful people who craft the pieces. Using linen and cotton, their pieces are crafted to ensure they are as natural and pure as possible and are gentle on your little one’s skin. Each Illoura piece is dyed using a range of non-toxic or plant-based dyes.
Baby Mori
Since 2015, Mori has been using the softest organic fabrics to give you the highest-quality products, which are made with your family’s wellbeing in mind. All of their pieces are thoughtfully crafted using sustainably sourced fabrics and manufactured in trusted factories. They have also partnered with a small local parent-run charity, Little Village, to donate your unwanted MORI clothing to a family in need.
Beya Made
Beya Made is a collection of expandable clothing for babies & toddlers that grows with your child (so you need fewer of them!). All of Beya Made’s fabrics are sourced from other manufacturers who have milled more than they need–turning textile waste into treasure and their entire collection is made locally in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a great brand to support made in America!
Daughter Co
Born on the shores of Byron Bay, this Australian brand exudes easy femininity with its classic and effortlessly wearable trans-seasonal pieces. Designed with longevity in mind, pieces are made to look great today and for years to come thanks to the use of high-quality fabrics, classic silhouettes and sustainable production processes. Clothing runs up to 14 years old and pieces are made with natural materials like GOTS certified organic cotton.
Co Label
A simple and unisex clothing line for children that is hand made in Italy from all natural materials. Co Label is winner of The MILK Green Award, which celebrates local and ethical manufacturing. This line is perfect for timeless designs and colours that are made to be handed down and used for many years to come.
Yoli & Otis
One of our favourites – Yoli & Otis uses all natural materials and plant based dyes with no chemicals used in their dyeing processes. Made in artisanal factories in Bali, this is a woman run independent company and you can also find some other brilliant ethical baby brands amongst their own pieces.
