What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

I wake up & let the dog into our bed as she is probably scratching at the door for a cuddle.

What are you having for breakfast?

My ideal breakfast is coffee, pancakes and a walk on the beach.

What’s your daily beauty routine?

My daily beauty routine is my time to slow down & reconnect, something that has become quite a ritual while spending more time at home. Each morning I will cleanse, apply Vitamin C, mouturiser & SPF. In the evenings I will then cleanse again, apply serums, eye cream & mousturiser before bed.

How would you describe your day to day style?

My day to day style is usually very comfortable, at the moment I have been loving my CAES bodysuit, I can wear this with anything, I am also loving my 100% cotton tracksuit by Gil Rodriguez, this is ethically made in the USA and I am also always wearing oversized shirts from my own label Cooke & Kin which are made here in Australia.

How do you inform yourself throughout the day? What are you listening to, watching, reading?

I enjoy listening to an uplifting podcast or audiobook while I walk the dog in the morning. Brene Browns “unlocking us” is great and also Phoebe reads a mystery as a lovely first thing. I have been watching Normal People, I loved Sally Rooney’s writing so this has been an amazing adaption to watch. Currently not reading too much more than a monthly horoscope while I am waiting for my online book order to arrive.

Do you have any personal life hacks for getting through the day in the most sustainable way possible?

I always carry a reusable water bottle, reusable coffee cup & eat at home as much as possible. I also enjoy cooking & eating fresh local food that is grown or farmed close to where I live. I am lucky I live in a country town that supports local growers & farmers so I do not support mass produced or processed foods as I feel this has a widespread effect on our environment.

How do you wind down at the end of the day?

I love to drink tea each night & have a magnesium bath a few times a week.

What does dinner time look like for you?

Dinner is always something delicious, made using local ingredients & herbs from the garden. My husband is from a family of chefs so I married well (haha) & feel lucky that he loves being in the kitchen. I’ve also fallen victim to the “sourdough craze” while in isolation so my go to meal at the moment is a potato pizza made with leftover starter.

What’s your night-time beauty ritual?

I like to drink magnesium powder & herbal tea before bed, I think relaxing the mind & having a good night’s sleep is considered part of my beauty routine.

What does sustainability mean to you?

Sustainability means a moral obligation by all, to all. I feel we as a whole need to be practicing & implementing a more sustainable way of life, treating people & the earth with respect while buying better & buying less. I love the idea of a group movement doing things imperfectly rather than one individual doing it perfectly.

What drives you to live a sustainable life?

I quite simply do not want to leave a negative footprint on the earth & on the hearts of people who will be living on the earth during & after my time.

Finally, what are three changes you would like to take from this time to move forward with in a more sustainable way?

I would like to start growing more of our food and eventually start my own hobby flower farm.

I would also like to offset my emissions and explore a carbon neutral future from my personal business, Cooke & Kin.

Finally I think my sustainable future is built from a health clear mind so I would love to take more time to support my mental and physical health.
