The Francis Stories Philosophy

Francis Stories use only the finest all-natural fibres and the best craftsmanship, to create woollen pieces that endure through out the cyclicity of the seasons. Whilst they strive for high quality, they are also committed to producing in an ethical and sustainable way, respecting and celebrating both Nature and the lives of those who contribute to each garment made. Francis Stories use wool from the Sustaina Wool Integrity Program to guarantee the production of the highest quality wool via the sustainable management of natural and physical resources and animal welfare.

How best to care for alpaca fibre.

A careful hand washing is the preferred way of cleaning your alpaca garment, extending considerably its life.

Wash gently in tepid water with a mild soap. Rinse throughly in water of the same temperature, without wringing or twisting. Gently press the excess water out.

Alpaca garments must be air dried. Do not hang your garment, as its damp weight will stretch it out of form. Instead, lie it flat on a dry towel and roll it up, pressing to remove the excess water.

Then, lie it flat on a drying rack or a fresh dry towel, but avoid exposing it to direct sunlight.

After dry, carefully fold your garment to avoid creases, and store it in a drawer or on a shelf. Do not hang your garment, as it will stretch out of shape.
