Our Favourite Natural Lip Products
Most of our makeup bags are riddled with products in plastic containers that are sadly filled with unnecessary chemicals.Makeup is a tool that has so much power. During lockdown, it helped me feel more normal in such abnormal times. Plus, it was a bit of fun I could bring to my tedious days. I wear makeup for myself, to make myself feel special. Something that makes us feel so empowered shouldn’t be polluting our environment or our bodies. In this piece, our editor Taylor, walks us through some of her favorite lip products.
Natural Lip Balms -
Before any lipstick application, lips must be hydrated! Or else lipsticks or lip tints just won’t sit well. The Henne Lip Balm is one of my all time favourite lip balms because it instantly hydrates and soothes – a wonderful option if you’re prone to eczema around your mouth. Henne’s organic lip balm is made using 100% natural ingredients that perfectly prep lips for lipstick.
Another go-to lip balm is the Pistachio Lip Balm by Irene Forte, which is deeply hydrating and really softens the lips. It is infused with shea butter and wild mango, which work together to provide protection against environmental stressors – perfect for city living.
Non-Toxic Lip Tints by Henne
Henné Organics is an organic luxury lip care and colour line by Swedish clean beauty lover Laura Xiao. The lipsticks and lip balms are all USDA Organic certified, and every Henné product is still carefully and lovingly made by hand locally in America. Their packaging is ultra-luxe, plastic free and sustainable. While I, of course, love a good lipstick, I sometimes go for a lip tint instead as they are often more hydrating and sheer. My favourite product is throw in my bag as they can double as a lip balm and some sheer colour.
Organic Lip Tint in Intrigue
I think everyone should have this shade! Intrigue is a classic dark brick red lip tint that looks flattering on all skin tones. You can apply one layer of this tint for a sheer hint of colour or add additional layers for a more opaque look. Unlike some lipsticks, you’ll never find a sticky residue from this formula – just hydration!
Organic Lip Tint In Coral
Another one of my favourite shades, Henne’s Coral, is the perfect orange tint that works on all skin tones. It instantly brightens the face and brings such a natural, summery glow to the skin. This also looks beautiful blended onto the cheeks and on the eyes for a beautiful and easy look.
