First of all, can you tell us a bit about why you were inspired to start WYNK?

 

It originally began as an engineering challenge: producing THC beverages in each state meant finding or building co-packing facilities everywhere we wanted to sell, which is costly and time-consuming. Our solution was a mobile canning system housed in a tractor-trailer, traveling state to state and partnering with local marijuana processing license holders. Initially, I was most intrigued by the technology itself. Then I recognized the potential for a low-dose, hemp-derived THC beverage. Cannabis is often stereotyped as being for stoners, but at lower doses in a beverage format, it can be a genuinely appealing alternative to alcohol for a wider audience.

 

What was the motivation for including THC within the seltzer?

 

We wanted to harness THC’s benefits in a way that felt approachable and sessionable. THC can provide a gentle mood lift and sense of relaxation, which makes it an appealing alternative to alcohol. The combination of the two cannabinoids THC and CBD (it’s a 1:1 ratio in our seltzer), makes for a balanced, light, and social buzz that is comparable to socially drinking alcohol.

Can you tell us how you incorporate sustainability into the manufacturing process?

 

We’re committed to minimizing our environmental impact at every step. We source and ship materials responsibly—prioritizing bulk orders and shipments not just for efficiency, but to reduce our carbon footprint. We also partner with manufacturers who share our values around green energy use and water conservation. As we scale, our production processes continue to become more efficient, helping us reduce both packaging and water waste.

Packaging is one area where we’re always looking to improve. Our cans are recyclable and lightweight, which helps reduce carbon emissions during transport. We continue to explore recycled materials and eco-friendly labeling options. 

Is cannabis environmentally friendly to grow?

 

Cannabis can be grown sustainably if cultivators prioritize responsible practices. This includes using energy-efficient lighting, capturing and reusing water, and avoiding chemical pesticides. We collaborate with growers who employ measures that reduce environmental impact. It’s an evolving industry, and we believe transparency in the supply chain is key to making cannabis more planet-friendly.

 

In terms of health, can you tell us a bit about some of the benefits of Wynk when it comes to what’s in (or what’s been intentionally left out of!) the beverage itself?
