Abyss Pear-Shaped Tourmaline Studs

Inspired by a trip to the Maldives in early 2021, these are handmade in our London studio using solid recycled gold and tourmalines. If you look into the tourmalines in our Abyss Studs, the name will become clear. Like staring down into a rock pool, taking in the unknowable beauty, the colours — especially when they catch the light — are exquisite. Made by taking a cast of beach pebbles in wax, then making a mould for the solid recycled gold, each set is made to order in 18ct recycled gold so will be completely unique. The studs measure 8x6mm. Stones: Two pear-shaped ethical tourmalines.

Please note this item ships from the maker in England and can take up to two weeks to make!

Traditionally Handmade Sustainable Jewellery

Contemporary, timeless and versatile designs are made using traditional goldsmith techniques. Every piece of jewellery is handmade in Adriana’s atelier, using natural Brazilian gemstones, diamonds and solid gold from recycled sources (9ct and 18ct).

Inspired by beautiful things she sees and the people she creates for, Adriana has created Voyage, Classica, Exotica, The Eye, Minima and Bridal collections, featuring necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings, including sustainable engagement and wedding bands, that are designed to both make a statement alone and sit harmoniously together.

Considered Designs

SOLID RECYCLED METAL – Their pieces are built to last, using solid 9ct or 18ct gold, so the colour won’t rub off or change over time. Sourced from London suppliers that recycle the metal themselves, which is the most sustainable practice — a closed loop.

HALLMARKED – All their jewellery is hallmarked by the Assay Office to guarantee the carat and quality of each piece.

EXCLUSIVE DESIGN – Each detail in their beautiful designs is carefully considered for wearability, longevity and sustainability.

Ethical Diamonds & Gemstones

KIMBERLEY PROCESS – They only source and buy ethical diamonds, that are in compliance with The Kimberley Process. This is an international certification scheme which regulates and helps protect legitimate trade in rough diamonds by prevent the flow of conflict diamonds.

CERTIFIED DIAMONDS – For all bespoke orders, they source ethical diamonds that are provided with a certificate.

FAIR-MINED BRAZILIAN GEMSTONES – A recent alternative to ‘fair trade gemstones’ is gemstones that are mined in adherence with fair trade principles. This ensures the stones they work with are sourced from mines which have healthy and safe practices and surroundings, as well paying a fair wage.
