Navygrey's Responsible Production

Navygrey’s jumpers are manufactured in a small factory in Portugal, near Porto which complies with best practice and sustainable principles. They produce in limited quantities to ensure both quality and to avoid excess waste. The label choose to use the fully fashioned knitting methods which produces little yarn wastage. Any yarn that does not make it into a jumper is recycled by the factory.

All Of Navygrey's Wool Is Woolmark Certified.

Navygrey craft their knitwear from superfine wool from the softest sheep in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. All wool is Woolmark certified so each raw fibre lot can be traced back to the farm that produced it, ensuring greater quality control. This wool is naturally breathable and odour resistant, it is natural, renewable and biodegradable.

Conscious Manufacturing

Despite being only be three years old, Navy Grey are committed to working with experts with a lifetime’s experience to create the best jumpers. 80% of their pieces are now made within the British Isles and with small amount of their knitwear is made in Portugal, including their organic cotton Sweatshirt.

Navy Grey’s principle wool spinners are in Scotland and Yorkshire, with a small amount of wool-spinning in Italy. They work with those British and European suppliers that are committed to continuous improvement in manufacturing. Their Scottish mill, Todd & Duncan for instance have a pioneering cyclical process so that the water used for washing and dyeing the wool can be cleaned and purified so that it can be returned to Loch Leven.
