REV On Air: Gardening As An Art Form & A Force For Change With Lily Kwong
In this truly inspiring episode, Lily Kwong shares how her experiences travelling and working with nature in its rawest, most vital form and growing up surrounded by wilderness and family passionate about gardening, made her adapt her practice of landscape design into bespoke botanical art. She now integrates an understanding of NYC’s city culture with her desire and vision for re-integrating nature and sustainability on earth and in our daily lives. Drawing upon an understanding of native vs exotic plants in the 2020 lockdown, she now advocates for a conscious gardening approach, taking into account native plants and their seasons, which inspires the fascinating overall concept of changing western perceptions of beauty to be in tune with nature in order to create a more sustainable and less trend-driven world.
“When you reconnect with the natural world, we reconnect with the essential part of ourselves that’s so easy to forget in our modern technological society, is we are part of the ecosystem, we are a part of nature, so that’s what my work has been dedicated to ever since I had that epiphany for myself.”
