Earth Day 2021: Five Environmental Charities To Support
To commemorate Earth Day this year, we wanted to bring light to some of the incredible non profits and charities who are dedicated to protecting and preserving the health of people and our planet, ultimately through efforts that focus on tackling the climate change crisis.
Earth Justice
“Here because the Earth needs a good lawyer.” – Earth Justice is the leading not for profit organisation utilising the power of law to fight for the protection of people and the planet, combating climate change. So far their incredible legal work has fuelled the rise of clean energy, protected many animal species at risk of extinction, preserved irreplaceable wild lands and forests, and much more. Read more about how a donation to Earth Justice can make a huge impact here.

Trees For The Future
“We lose trees at a rate of 50 soccer fields per minute as our food systems destroy our ecosystems”. It should not have to be said that trees are essential for our survival. Not only do forests provide jobs for billions of people, but they play an absolutely crucial role in combating climate change, capturing carbon and other greenhouse gases from the Earth’s atmosphere. Through training farmers to regenerate their land, and planting trees, Trees For The Future are dedicated to ending hunger and poverty, and tackling climate change head on.
Women's Earth Alliance
“Globally, women and girls are the most adversely and disproportionately impacted by climate change, health crises, and environmental destruction,” according to Women’s Earth Alliance, who are training women in environmentally threatened regions. They are an inspiring organization, who train women to combat ecological issues within their communities. “When women thrive, communities, the environment, and future generations thrive” – an incredible message that we support 100%. When you donate to WEA, you are supporting women in climate-threatened regions to make a difference for the planet and their communities.
SeaLegacy
Founded by some of the most experienced photographers, filmmakers and storytellers, SeaLegacy is a non profit with a mission “to create healthy and abundant oceans, for us and for the planet”. Through the power of extraordinary storytelling, SeaLegacy “move people from apathy to action”. Recent missions have included: promoting the success of sustainable fishing and ocean farming practices in Spain and supporting the protection and restoration of one of the Caribbean’s last wild seascapes.

With climate change posing a catastrophic threat to so many species all over the world, WWF have committed their efforts to directly tackling the climate crisis. “We’re calling for a new global deal for nature and people that will reverse the catastrophic loss of nature – ensuring world leaders make positive commitments on climate and the environment that will define the future of our world.”
