Lavender

If you only use one essential oil, this is it! Known for its soothing effects, we also love it for its therapeutic value in skincare thanks to Lavender’s antibacterial properties.

Skin: It’s an easy and gentle blemish fix. Just put 1 or two drops on a reusable cotton pad and gentle rub over affected area to let Lavender’s natural antibacterial properties heal troubled area.

Body and Wellbeing: We love this easy to make body soak for a relaxing soak:  add 10 drops of Lavender to 1 cup of Epsom or Sea salts and add to your bath. Enjoy.

Lifestyle: How about this easy to do sleep aid: add about 3-4 drops of Lavender to a tissue, then simply place it under your pillow for a good night’s sleep.

Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang essential oil embodies a warm, exotic and luscious aroma to add a touch of blooming florals to whatever you are using it with. We like to use Ylang Ylang to soothe our overworked brains at the end of the day and to evoke a little bit of day dreaming whenever needed.

Body and Wellbeing: The best way to prep for bed is using Ylang Ylang in combination with Lavender for a better night’s sleep. If you enjoy an evening bath add 10 drops of Ylang Ylang and 10 drops of Lavender plus a handful of Sea Salts to warm running water. Or blend the same amount of essential oils to a 10 ml bottle filled with Almond Oil and massage into sole of your feet as well a dap a little right under your nose.

Lifestyle: To turn your bathroom into a space for a Sunday afternoon home spa indulgence, add this mix to your diffusor: 4 drops of Ylang Ylang, 7 drops of Geranium, 4 drops of Lavender to calm your mind and enjoy Ylang Ylang’s soothing aroma.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus has a powerful scent and is easily recognizable. It helps to boost your immune system and helps with respiratory problems. Invigorating as well as comforting we especially love our Eucalyptus to create mini spa moments at home.

Skin: Tired feet? Try a refreshing foot soak at the end of the day by adding 10 drops of Eucalyptus and half a cup of sea salt to a warm tub to soak your feet in.

Body and Wellbeing: We love to use Eucalyptus in the morning. Place 3 drops of Eucalyptus onto the floor of your shower and let the hot water create a wonderful rejuvenating and refreshing aroma while you do your shower things.

Lifestyle: If you feel a cold coming, place 2-3 drops of Eucalyptus oil onto a tissue and inhale as often as needed during the day.

Peppermint

With its minty yet herbal aroma Peppermint essential oil is quite helpful with digestion and immune support. It is energising, pain relieving and helps with cramping.

Skin: One drop of Peppermint essential oil dribbled onto a skin cut will work wonders. It will stop bleeding immediately and it won’t burn at all. Use a band-aid after treating the cut with Peppermint.

Body and Wellbeing: A super easy yet refreshing morning boost would be to add a 2-3 drops of Peppermint essential oil to your shampoo, conditioner or body wash. It will instantly energise your mind and boot your energy levels.

Lifestyle: Experience Peppermints uplifting and energising aroma in your diffusor or essential oil lamp. Our favorite combo to feel energized right away is 6-8 drops of Peppermint essential oil mixed with the same amount of Sweet Orange essential oil.

Sweet Orange

It’s our go-to oil for an instant pick-me-up! With its sweet but citrusy scent it can calm nerves and lower anxiety – even during the most stressful times. The aroma has been shown to even lower stress levels and boost your energy. So what’s not to love?

Skin: For some serious glow and a boost of Vitamin C you can easily mix 2 drops to 3 droppers full of your favorite face oil. It works with any of our face oils, but especially well with Plum, Baobab, Marula and Moringa. If you use this in the morning make sure to wear some SPF because of the Vitamin C.

Body and Wellbeing: A great way to improve your mood instantly is to simply sniff and inhale deeply or add 5-10 drops (ideally with half a cup of Epsom or Sea Salts) to your bath. It’s one of our favourite things to do on a lazy Sunday to kick of a home-spa day (or at least an hour or so).

Lifestyle: The perfect pick me up for burning in your oil lamp or diffuser is a mix of 5 drops Sweet Orange and 3 drops of Lemon. You will notice how this also balances out any grumpiness or mood swings!
