How To Have An Eco Friendly Yoga Routine

Setting The Mood Naturally

Thanks to our new range of essential oils by Voyanics, we have been able to (naturally) set the mood for our yoga flows, no matter what the time of day. When used in an oil lamp or diffuser they fill the room with a beautiful aroma which really helps to enhance your flow and your mood. For morning yoga we love using uplifting scents like lemon, sweet orange and grapefruit. For evening, use relaxing scents such as lavender, bergamot and ylang yang.

Burning a natural incense is another wonderful way to set the mood of your flow. UME’s line of natural incense is made from 100% aromatic plants, and is vegan and always ethically sourced. For morning flows, we love the Dawn incense. With notes of citrus, it is incredibly uplifting.

Plant Based Activewear

Indigo Luna’s activewear collection is made from GOTS certified organic cotton and sustainable viscose, making it beautifully soft and comfortable, ideal for your yoga flow. This certification means the cotton is grown without GMOs, without harmful chemicals such as fertilisers, pesticides and insecticides, and with traceability from the cotton fields to the final customer including transaction certificates at each step.

All of Indigo Luna’s activewear is hand dyed with eco friendly dyes therefore slight dye batch variances may occur, please embrace any small imperfections as they give your garment its own unique personality!

Eco Yoga Mats

An absolute favourite amongst the REV team and our customers, we highly recommend A Complete Unity Yoga’s yoga mats! Unlike most synthetic mats, they are made from natural biodegradable materials. The jute fabric mixed with rubber on top gives a durable, tactile and pleasantly natural surface to work on whilst providing excellent grip. It will enable you to practise and flow while deeply connected to nature.

We have also just added some beautiful new yoga mats to our wellness curation from Pico Goods. Each mat is handwoven from organic cotton and features a natural rubber grip so you can practice in comfort, and always in harmony with the earth.

TENCEL® Activewear

Vyayama was founded with the intention of providing a natural alternative to synthetic active wear, with the belief that the products we use should be held to the same standards that we hold for ourselves. Their activewear is made from TENCEL® which is not only an extremely eco friendly, renewable fibre, but the fabrics created with it are among the softest and most high performance.

Natural Recovery

Recovery is just as important and moving! Rollers are your personal masseuse – a gentle post-workout roll helps to massage out any kinks and aid recovery. Meg offer an eco alternative to synthetic rollers that are just as, if not more, effective! Their natural cork rollers and blocks are much more dense than foam and offer a more effective massage.

Winding Down

If you can, we really recommend taking an extra 10 to 15 minutes to wind down, be still, and mindful after finishing a yoga flow. Something that we love to use during this time is a lavender relaxing eye cushion. Placing this cushion over your eyes and breathing in its natural lavender scent whilst you lie still after practice is incredibly relaxing! We also love to do this ritual again before going to sleep.

Once we have done this, we to take the time for a little self care by spritzing our skin with an organic natural face mist that is both refreshing and hydrating on the skin.
