Our Favourite Eco-Friendly Stores in Los Angeles

Food + Wine -

Tilda California Natural Wines – 

Tilda in Echo Park has been one of my favorite wine bars and shops in the city. It is the perfect place to meet friends for an organic glass (or bottle) of wine or to grab a few bottles from their shop. The thing I love most about Tilda is their focus on local, Californian wine. Their wine list changes often, but always includes a big selection of natural wine throughout the state. They also make sure to stock a variety of wines at different budgets, so there is usually something in there for everyone! I love keeping an eye on their Instagram to see what their pouring each week.

Re Grocery – 

Avoid plastic entirely when you shop at Re Grocery. They have made it easier and even more affordable to shop sustainably. The shop carries over 400 refillable bulk goods and they strive to source only the highest quality organic, non-GMO and clean products – totally plastic free. Sustain LA –

Another amazing zero waste store is Sustain LA, which is one of my favourite refill stations in the city. You can of course pop in and grab everything you need or you can order online to have everything delivered right to you! Some of my favourite things to get from Sustain LA are their cleaning products and beauty products. From gorgeous bath refills to organic castor oil to coffee filters, they have you covered!

Clothing + Beauty -

Christy Dawn –

With the ethos of farm to closet, Christy Dawn has been producing beautiful and sustainable womenswear since 2013. The brand recently opened a gorgeous store in Venice on Abbot Kinney, where you can finally try on all their pieces. Christy Dawn repurposes fabrics but using deadstock materials that are left behind by other fashion companies. They also use organic cotton and have a whole organic cotton collection you can shop if you’re trying to only buy organic fabrics. The brand is 100% transparent and you can read all about their sourcing and production here.

Whimsy + Row –

Another one of my favourite sustainable clothing stores in LA is Whimsy + Row. Founded in 2014 with the mission of providing ease and elegance for the modern, sustainable woman. The brand creates limited run batches of handcrafted and ethical collections that are all made a few miles from their offices in Los Angeles. They only use locally sourced, upcycled, and low impact materials to create pieces that will last years and years. You can shop everything in person at their lovely shop in Venice.

The Detox Market –

As a beauty junky, The Detox Market has been my go-to for natural and clean products for years. They have locations across LA with incredibly helpful teams that will guide you to the best options for your skin type and wants. The Detox Market carries an array of amazing brands, such as Ilia Beauty, Kosas, Shiva Rose, Osea, Tata Harper, and more. They also have lots of zero waste options!
