Afternoon – Visit the Design Museum
We had to include a stop at the Copenhagen Design Museum as part of this travel guide. It’s our top spot for paying homage to Scandinavian design. Exploring decades of innovation in transport, furniture, and fashion. Follow this with a trip to the 400 year old Rosenborg Castle for some picturesque views. If you get hungry later, try an afternoon snack at Acacia. Their vegan Snickers bar is a must-try! Also, keep one in your hotel room fridge for a late-night treat.
Wine – Steffi Graf
Steffi Graf is a natural wine shop on the corner of Stefansgade and Søllerødgade in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. This wine shop, inspired by former German tennis player Steffi Graf, is in a great spot. You can take a stroll in the afternoon or early evening. Stop by to grab some wine before your evening plans!
Evening – Dinner at Väkst
Väkst is a beautiful three story restaurant filled with reclaimed furniture. It’s a green spot that serves traditional Nordic dishes. You’ll enjoy the food as well as the history and charm of the place. Pick from a variety of local dishes, such as grilled celeriac and oyster mushrooms. The restaurant is also committed to producing as little waste as possible, ranking it high up on our list of eco eateries. There’s even an indoor greenhouse…the fruit and veg doesn’t get more home-grown than this!
Night – Cocktails At The Apollo
No city break in Europe is complete without cocktails. Enjoy them on a bright patio or in a lively bar, depending on the weather. For this, we recommend The Apollo. This space is modern and minimal, yet full of creative flair. Colorful furniture from the nearby art school fills the area. Elegant plaster-cast statues add charm and nod to the rich history of Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
