I have been on the hunt for a sustainable desk for a while now as I started to put together my dream home office, but I knew that vintage wasn’t going to be the best option for me here as I wanted a really specific size and something very sturdy to hold all of my office needs! So I was beyond thrilled to discover Oakywood and their incredibly ethical and beautiful office furniture.

About Oakywood:

Oakywood’s brand philosophy is built on three core values of quality, durability, and environmental care which is why all of their products are manufactured using natural, precious materials from responsible and sustainable sources. Despite growing internationally, their workshop is still very much intentionally located in the town of Ciche, a small Polish town in the foothills of the Tatra mountains. Because of this, they can take greater care of sustainability whilst supporting the local economy and community. All of Oakywood’s products are handcrafted in their own workshop by certified craftsmen.

Reforestation:

Reforestation has a huge impact not only on the environment but also on communities. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people. Planting fruit trees helps fight hunger and grow local economies. Oakywood has already planted 87,919 trees, absorbing 2197956 kg of carbon!

Cora's Desk:

I am now using their classic desk in walnut which has made a lovely and practical staple piece for my workday. Their American walnut wood is a durable, long lasting, and damage resistant material. Its unique, rich chocolate tone is complemented by a clear wood grain and I have been able to pair it with a vintage Danish desk chair for an elegant look.

Made from solid wood, the Classic Wooden Desk is a timeless and durable office staple. Its rounded edges make it sturdy and resistant to damage while its optimal height and smooth surface help you comfortably get through your workday. Natural wax oil coating the tabletop gives the wood a matte finish that protects it whilst still allowing the wood to breathe.
